Our lab, led by Dr. Gerard Derosiere, is part of the ImpAct team at the Lyon Neuroscience Research Center (CRNL), in the beautiful city of Lyon in France. It is affiliated to the French national institutions, INSERM and CNRS, as well as to the Université Claude Bernard Lyon 1 (UCBL). Our work is funded by different sources, including the French National Research Agency (ANR) and INSERM. Our main goal? We look into how the human brain handles cost/benefit decisions and motivation, both in healthy conditions and in disease, as in the context of apathy. We use a multimodal approach to address this issue, combining neuroimaging and brain stimulation approaches together with computational modelling of behavior. One of our ambitions is to develop new solutions to increase engagement in effort and reduce apathy, for example using innovative non-invasive brain stimulation approaches.
